Myabca's course begins in 1960.  In this year, the firm's American leading stakeholder establishes the name by combining the initials of five English words:
Mallorca   Yacht   And   Boat   Construction   Association.
In order to achieve the projects of this partnership, which are not others but to custom build vessels of great beauty and length, -where most of the orders came from foreigners well known by the American partner-, it was necessary to import special tools and heavy machinery, plus the know-how and woodworking skills of men of excellence and virtue: the Puerto de Pollença's shore carpenters.  Without these valuable skillful men none of the magnificent vessels built here would have ever existed, such as the "Circe" (shown in the picture), or the "Hispania V", and others that sail, mostly on American waters.  With the arrival of fiberglass and new shipbuilding techniques, the evolution towards simplicity was the next stage to accomplish and assimilate, not only by this firm but also by the entire industry.  Construction costs went down thus opening the market to new customers.  Myabca evolves with these trends towards a new extent of shipbuilding, an extent that suits the needs of the leading market, a market that demands a safe and comfortable vessel of smaller proportions.  Combining these master qualities with traditional craftsmanship, a unique, peculiar, traditional boat evolves, heir of all Mediterranean seafaring cultures.  A boat formed up in tough Mediterranean waters that stands for those who wish a safe and comfortable, custom-built, modern vessel.  A seaworthy boat.
